Girls' Night Out at the Arcade

Posted by Hayley Martin on

As previously covered on this blog, the L. Mae team goes out every couple of weeks throughout the summer for Girls' Nights Out. The latest GNO was a trip to the Garden City Pavilion Arcade, which is located right across the street from the beach. It's filled with games, old and new, and features classics such as Ski Ball, Basketball, and Dance Dance Revolution. There are tons of arcade games for every preference. Everyone was given a goody bag filled with tokens and a glittery paper crown to express our inner divas. We spent the next hour competing against each other in games. However, playing the games wasn’t just for fun: the person who got the most tickets at the end of the night won a championship belt!

After playing in the arcade and redeeming the prizes for our tickets, we headed across the street for outdoor activities. Some of us went bungee jumping and zorbing, which is playing in a giant inflatable tube in a big pool. The highlight of the night was when we all hopped in go-carts and raced each other around the track.

We finished the night at a small diner beside the arcade, enjoying classic boardwalk food like corn dogs, grilled cheese, and lots of french fries. It was great to have another fun night different from our everyday routines. The best part of the night was being able to play like we were kids again and bonding as a team.
